UNFOLDING YOUR ZIPR
Follow these steps to deploy your cart safely
RELEASE MAGNETIC BUCKLE
Pull the magnetic buckle outward with force. Pull all four support rods outward and keep their ends at least 8 inches (20 cm) away from the body to avoid damage during unfolding.
ATTACH MAGNETIC BUCKLE TO FRAME
Attach the magnetic buckle to the X-bracket’s outer rod on the cart. This secures the frame during the unfolding process.
UNFOLD THE FRAME
Stand beside the cart, grip both marked red areas with your hands, tilt the frame toward your side, then unfold the body in the direction of the arrows.
EXTEND STEERING COLUMN
Extend both handlebars outward and lift upward until the telescopic pin engages with the center detent hole.
LOCK SUPPORT RODS
Firmly press all four support rods into the middle grooves of the vehicle frame. Then rotate both limit knobs 90 degrees to securely fasten the rods in place.
SECURE STAR KNOBS & FLOOR BOARD
Secure the four star knobs at the end of the support rods, then unfold and lay the folding floor board flat inside the vehicle compartment.
INSTALL SEAT PLATE
Release the seat plate positioning pins and adjust them to a vertical position. Align the two pins with the corresponding holes on the support rods.
LOWER FOOTRESTS
Lower both footrests and gently pull the limit pin rings to adjust their position. Adjust the pedal to ensure full depression of the mechanical brake lever.
INSTALL BATTERY
Open the dust cover of the rear battery port. Align the four sliding rails on the battery with the four guide posts on the frame. Firmly press until you hear a “click” sound.
RELEASE BRAKE & READY TO RIDE
Unlock the mechanical brake by pulling the lever. Check that all positioning pins are secure. Verify brake function before riding. You’re now ready to go!
IMPORTANT SAFETY GUIDELINES
Always follow these safety rules for safe operation
WEAR PROTECTION
When riding, recommended to wear protective gear clothing/ safety gear. Do not wear sandals or open-toe footwear.
CHECK BRAKES
Before each ride, verify that mechanical brakes are functional. Practice using the foot brake.
USER ELIGIBILITY
Suitable for ages 16-55, height 4’7″ (1.4m) or taller, weight 88-243 lbs (40-110 kg).
TERRAIN LIMITS
Do not ride on steep slopes, wet/slippery surfaces, or hazardous areas. Max obstacle: 0.79″ (20mm).
WEIGHT LIMITS
Rated load 551 lbs (250kg) on flat surfaces. Reduce load on inclines. Do not exceed limits.
BATTERY SAFETY
Do not use on inclines when battery below 40%. Replace battery or recharge if below 30%.
PARKING
Fully depress mechanical foot brake and verify lever is locked before parking to prevent rolling.
WATER RESISTANCE
IPX5 rated – do not use in water exceeding half wheel height. Clean promptly after seawater exposure.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common questions about ZIPR operation and maintenance
HOW DO I SWITCH BETWEEN RIDING AND TOWING MODES?
To switch from Riding to Towing Mode:
1. Lift the seat plate from both sides to remove it
2. Pull the locking pin ring to set the pedal upright
3. Pull the telescopic pin on the steering column to raise it
4. Release the steering column locking pin and extend to full position
5. Lower the steering column to switch to towing mode
The control system will automatically flip the display when switching modes.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CHARGE THE BATTERY?
Charge the battery after each use and avoid full depletion. At 77°F (25°C) ambient temperature, the battery delivers peak range and performance.
Important: Even during prolonged vehicle inactivity, recharge the battery regularly (every 1-2 months) to maintain battery health and prevent damage.
Below 32°F (0°C), range and performance decline significantly but will recover when temperatures rise to 77°F (25°C).
WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM SPEED AND RANGE?
2WD Standard Version:
• Riding Speed: 0-6 mph (0-9 km/h) manual, 0.6-4.5 mph cruise
• Towing Speed: 0-10 mph (0-16 km/h)
• Comprehensive Range: 18.6 miles (30 km)
4WD Off-Road Version:
• Riding Speed: 0-10 mph (0-16 km/h) in 4WD, 0-9 mph in front/rear wheel
• Towing Speed: 0-10 mph (0-16 km/h)
• Range: 4WD 9.3 miles (15km), FWD 12.4 miles (20km)
HOW DO I ADJUST THE BRAKES?
The mechanical drum brakes are pre-adjusted at the factory. If brake performance decreases:
1. Lift the rear wheel off the ground and fully release the foot brake
2. Slowly rotate the wheel while turning the tension screw counterclockwise in half-turn increments
3. Stop when you detect slight friction sounds during rotation
4. If excessive resistance, turn tension screw clockwise to fine-tune
5. Test ride: wheels should lock up completely when applying foot brake
Important: Make small adjustments each time to avoid brakes being too loose or too tight.
WHAT ARE THE DRIVING ASSISTANCE FEATURES?
Regenerative Braking: Release throttle to slow down. Hold E-brake fully to stop and lock wheels.
Anti-rollback: On slopes ≥3°, press the electric brake lever fully to activate (voice prompt: “Hill Assist on”).
Hill Start Assist: With anti-rollback engaged, the cart may roll back 4 inches (10cm) upon releasing E-brake or foot brake.
Cruise Control (Riding): While riding, lightly press throttle and simultaneously press function button to maintain speed.
Towing Cruise Control: Short press function or power button to activate. Fully press and release throttle to maintain 0.62 mph (1 km/h).
HOW DO I CLEAN AND MAINTAIN MY ZIPR?
Cleaning:
• Clean main frame with soft damp cloth
• For stubborn stains, apply toothpaste and scrub gently with toothbrush
• After cleaning, apply lubricant sparingly to joints and moving parts
• Do NOT use alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or pressure washers
Storage:
• Store in cool, dry place indoors
• Avoid prolonged outdoor exposure to sunlight and extreme temperatures
• Ensure charging port rubber cover is secured before cleaning
• Power off and unplug charging cable before cleaning
